These awards mean a lot to Hive to Home because we focus on the WHY and the WHAT.
At Hive to Home, sustainability and community are at the heart of everything we do. From sourcing to giving back, we carefully consider every decision to ensure it aligns with our mission.
The Ingredients: We use package-free jojoba oil from a locally owned store, sustainably harvested pine rosin, Nova Scotian beeswax from local farmers, 100% cotton from a locally owned store, and wash fabric in eco suds soap nuts (reusable alternative to laundry detergent). These thoughtfully chosen materials ensure our wraps are eco-friendly and support local businesses.
The Packaging: Our packaging reflects our commitment to sustainability, with tags made from post-consumer box board (like cereal boxes), 100% cotton string, locally crafted stamps, and envelopes made from old newspapers by a local company. We even seal packages with compostable packing tape!
The Giving Back: Supporting our community is a core value. We proudly donate 5% of all sales to the Dalhousie Beekeeping Society, funding vital work for pollinator health and education. I also love sharing my passion for sustainability by donating my time to speak in schools, inspiring the next generation to care for our planet.
